As an all-volunteer fire company, we solely depend on donations from our residents as our only source of income to operate the fire company and our firehouse.
The Borough of Fair Lawn owns the fire apparatus and equipment that we take care of and use, however the Borough does not provide us with any additional funding.
It is estimated that an all-volunteer fire department saves the town over $10 Million a year, which substantially lowers your property taxes.
Many other towns that could not support a volunteer department such as Ridgewood, Teaneck, Hackensack, Englewood, Paterson, Clifton, and Passaic converted to paid career fire departments.
Additionally, having a local fire company minutes away from your residence dramatically reduces your household property and fire insurance.
As we are in the process of independently renovating our firehouse to accomodate our new fire apparatus and insure modern safety standards, donations are more vital to us than ever before. Every dollar counts! We appreciate your continued support.
