Truck 1 - 970

Truck 1 is a 2007 KME 95' midmount tower ladder. The four door cab is a Predator model LFD, constructed out of aluminum, and fully tilts to access the engine and transmission. The cab seats six firefighters and the rear crew section features two interior and two exterior storage compartments and a 16" raised roof. The truck is powered by a Cummins model ISM500 six cylinder turbocharged diesel, rated at 500 hp and 1,550 lb.ft. of torque, with a Jacobs engine brake and an Allison World Transmission. The new truck body is also aluminum and incorporates aluminum roll-up doors on most compartments. Unique features of the body to maximize storage space include the water supply intakes for the platform mounted inside compartments, one on each side of the truck; and the use of the upper transverse compartment area for storage of a stokes basket, backboard and Little Giant ladder. A compete LED emergency warning light system is utilized at the cab, body and tower platform. The under vehicle scene lights and all compartment interior lights are LED's as well.
The truck is equipped with a SmartPower model HR-15 15,000 watt PTO hydraulic generator. The generator supplies power to two 500watt (cab mounted) and two 750watt scene lights (removable), six 750watt scene lights (four fixed and two telescoping) at the tower platform, and two Hannay electric rewind cord reels. The rear of the truck features ground ladder storage totaling 214' with an additional 12' ladder mounted in the tower top fly section and a Little Giant model 17 mounted in a body transverse compartment. A full compliment of gas powered saws, exhaust and positive pressure fans, pike poles, hand tools, salvage equipment and gas/carbon-monoxide detectors are stored on the truck. In addition an AED defibrillator as well as oxygen and medical supplies are stored inside one of the cab interior compartments.
The 95' tower consists of a five section steel ladder and an aluminum platform with a 1,000lb capacity. The platform mounts a single Akron monitor along with two 2-1/2" outlets, supplied by a 5" stainless steel pipe waterway. The tower features IQAN motion control along with E-CUSH, a computerized auto-leveling outrigger system.
Truck 1 responds to all general fire calls as well as for special calls, emergency conditions, gas leaks and carbon-monoxide alarms.

Engine 1 - 971

| The Saulsbury manufactured Engine 1's chassis is a Duplex D8400 mid-engine design powered by a 400HP Detroit diesel equipped with a Jacobs engine brake and an Allison transmission. The aluminum four door cab has a 10" raised roof over the crew compartment, seats eleven firefighters and is air-conditioned. The fire pump is a Hale 1,250gpm single stage rear mounted unit with stainless steel piping and a FRC class B foam eductor system.
Engine 1 has a 750gal water tank and a 40gal form tank. The body is fabricated from stainless steel with aluminum roll-up compartment doors, high-sided on both sides with ladders stored in the body and accessed from the rear step. Engine 1 carries 1,000' of 5" and 800' of 2-1/2" supply line as well four attack lines (three 1-3/4" and one 2-1/2") all accessed from the rear of the apparatus. In addition there is 100' of 1" booster line stored at the front bumper.
Engine 1 responds to fire calls, motor vehicle accidents and other emergency conditions. |

Squad 1 - 978

| Squad 1 as manufactured by Saulsbury in 1993 and it is based on a Ford Superduty F450 chassis powered by a 7.3L V-8 diesel engine. Conceived as a utility vehicle, and a transport for the fire company boat, Squad 1 is equipped with a 9.0kw diesel generator which supplies power to a Hannay electric rewind cord reel, a Phoenix telescoping light tower with a 20' mast and four 1,500watt quartz lights; and body mounted outlets.
Squad 1 responds to boat calls, working fires, search and rescue, motor vehicle accidents and other emergency conditions. A compliment of hand tools, pike poles, gas powered saws, etc. A 750gpm Akron deck gun is mounted on top of the utility body for use at major fires. |

Marine 1 - 978B

For water search and rescue, a 2007 Rescue One Connector Boat is carried on a trailer towed by Squad 1. The boat is over 16 feet long, with a maximum speed of 35 mph and maximum carrying capacity of 3400 lbs. It has a powerful Mercury 40hp 4-stroke jetdrive EFI Propeller with power tilt/trim, and electric start.
Marine 1 also has a dive/rescue platform for diving operations, a light bar, a spotlight, a body recovery pack, and a center console. Additional Specifications can be found here. All boat operators have completed a boating safety course and are certified by the State of New Jersey.

Old Truck 1 (The Snorkel) - 970B |
| Originally delivered in 1976 as a Pierce-Oshkosh-Snorkel, Truck 1 was refurbished in 1992 by Grumman Emergency Products. The original 75' articulating boom was refurbished and mounted on a new Grumman D450 Panther low profile chassis. The aluminum four door cab seats seven firefighters. The new chassis is powered by a turbocharged 450HP Detroit diesel engine equipped with a Jacobs engine brake and an Allison transmission. The new truck body is also aluminum and incorporates roll-up compartment doors.
Truck 1 is equipped with an Onan 6.0kw diesel generator which supplies power to: two 1,000watt and two 500watt telelights; two Hannay electric rewind cord reels and body mounted supply outlets. A full compliment of ground and roof ladders, gas-powered saws, exhaust and positive pressure fans, pike poles, hand tools, salvage equipment and gas and carbon-monoxide detectors are carried on the truck.
The Old Truck 1 is currently being kept and maintained in our Station 1 Apparatus Bay as a reserve truck. |
