About Us

The Fair Lawn Fire Department, Company No. 1 "Central Station" is a 100% volunteer fire company serving the community of Fair Lawn since 1911. The company functions as a non-profit organization and our single source of revenue is generous donations from the community.

Our members respond to a variety of fire, emergency, and rescue calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with an average three minute response time. Besides handling all in-town calls, we also have mutual-aid agreements with neighboring towns and mutual fire aid associations. Additionally, we participate in weekly drills, and put on a number of events to the community each year. Some events include, Fire Station Open House, Easter Treat, the Borough 4th of July Fireworks, National Night Out, the Memorial Day Parade, the Jr. Police Academy, Street Fairs, and various fire prevention and awareness activities.

The Company owns and operates our George Street Firehouse which serves not only as a place to park apparatus, but includes offices for our officers, a meeting room which provides the borough and the fire department with a lecture hall, and a lounge area for our members to relax after a call.

If you'd like to learn more information about our fire company, or like to request a demonstration, tour, or lecture, please feel free to contact us at 201-794-5401 or by e-mail, Captain@fairlawnfireco1.com.
